Yes, you can connect TotalScan and a 50/200 kHz transducer at the same time. My recommendation would be to combine TotalScan with an Airmar CHIRP transducer. Which model depends on fishing depths.
Can you use two Lowrance transducers at once?
If both transducers are using the same frequency, they will interfere with each other once you reach a water depth that allows the two beams to cross. In shallow water, they may work together if the transducers are far enough apart. Many of today's sounders can use more than one transducer frequency. Can you put 2 transducers next to each other?
You can mount SI/DI and high speed transducers side by side on the same side of the boat without any problems. When they both transducers use the same frequency is when you may experience interference. Can you run 2 Lowrance fish finders off 1 transducer?
If you wish to concurrently view more than one transducer on your unit at the same time, set the Network Sonar mode to Multi Source. For example a split screen showing two (or more) sonar sources. If there are incompatible devices or software versions you will be presented with the list. Can you run 2 units off 1 transducer?
Yes, connect them together using a Lowrance Ethernet connector with yellow connectors. I recommend to connect the transducer to HDS and select HDS as sonar source on LMS-525. I replaced my LMS-525C by a HDS-5 so I tried the sonar sharing before I sold the LMS. Thanks abbor.Dual Transducer Setup
Can you use 2 fish finders at the same time?
Any time you run two units with the same frequency there is a risk of interference. However, with the modern noise rejection systems built into today's fish finders, in most conditions when there is a unit on the front and back of the boat with the same frequencies, they will not interfere with each other. How close can you have transducers together?
The transducer should be mounted forward of the propellers on inboard boats, and separated adequately from other transducers, strakes, rivet lines, or other protrusions that may create turbulence. Make sure there is nothing in front, behind, or to the side of the transducer that is closer than 12".How far should a transducer be in the water?
Tip # 3 WaterlineThirdly the best bet when mounting your transducer to read at speed is to have the bottom of it 3-4 mm below the waterline. Because the transducer can only ping in water so you do want it submerged. If it's too deep sometimes the front face of it will create turbulence and bubbles = bad.
