When scorpions have the capability (as not all scorpions will glow) to fluoresce, both live and dead specimens glow under ultraviolet (black) light. The glow comes from chemicals that are found within the cuticle which is part of the exoskeleton. What makes a scorpion glow in the dark?

Do baby scorpions glow?
1- Baby Scorpions DO NOT glow under a black light!Scorpions glow due to a protein found in their exoskeleton. It's believed by some that scorpions maybe able to detect UV rays via this protein. Apparently this protein is not found in the baby scorpions. It may take a few more molts before this protein appears.
